OUR ADDINGTON STOCK REPORT. A RECORD SALE. LOCAL SHORTHORN PRIZEWINNER, (Kress Association). Ohristohnrch, Last Night. At the Addington stock sale there were large entries of fat; stock. Special line of fat sheep, cattle, and the first of the new season's fat lambs for Grand National week's trade, were offered. There was a large attendance. All classes of fat stock sold well. Store sheep allowed praotioally no change in prices. The fat sheep market opened well up to last week's prices but eased off somewhat towards the dose. Fat hoggets were firm, Store cattle were doll of Bale, bat dairy cows were in good demand, and thera was no change in fat pigs. There was a large entry of store sheep, which was made up practically of ewes and hoggets. There was a steady demand at last week's rates. Good wether hoggets made 12s to Ills, extra to 14s 3d, medium lis to lls6d, small 8s Gd to 10s (id, good ewe hoggets 15s to 16s, others 13s Id to 13s 9d, 2-tootu ewes 15s 2d to 15s-sd, six and eight tooth 14a 9d to 16s 4d, sound month 12a Gd to 14s lOd, aged 9s Gd to 10s Bd, and oulls ss 7d, wethers 12s Gd, for low condition up to 14s 4d. The.ro was an entry of 500 for good fat hoggets, and the quality was the above average, there being several extra prime lines of tegs. There was a good dtmand and prioes were very firm. Two export buyers were operating, and they took 452. The butchers purchased 115, and 23 were passed in. Prices for ordinary to prime made 12s 3d to 17s Cd, and special lots 17s lid to 21s 9J. A few new season's lambs made 10s 6d to 203 Gd. The yarding of fat sheep was muoh larger than of late, and oousistad principally of wethers. Several lots of show sheep and other specially prime lines were offered. Several of these lots brought over 30s. Mr P. Bull's prize four-tooth Shropshires, which won the championship at the Dunedin Winter Show in June, made a new Australasian record for fat sheep, the top price being £3 17s Gd «s against £3 17s three years ago, There was some business done by the export bnyer?, but the butohers were the prinoipal buyers. For ordinary good to prime the previous week's prices were well maintained till towards the close of t'he sale, wien .tliey eased a little though the demand continued 'good. The range of prices was extra prime show wether £llss to £3 7s 6d, extra prime wethers £1 5s to £ll2s, prime 19s to £lss, others 15s 6d to 19s, extra prime ewes to £l2*, prime 17s 6d to.£l Is, others 12s Id to 17s Gd, Merino wethers 13s Gd to 15s. The yarding of fat cattle totalled 281, and the yarding as a whole was one of the best ever seen in the yard, there being a number of extra prime liues from local graziers, and from stations. Steers brought from £los to £lll2s Gd and np to £21155, heifers £5 5s to £lO, and extra to £ll Gd, cows £6 to £9 2s Gd, and extra to £12155, equal to £1 to £lß* for ordinary to prime and a few special to £llos per lOOlbs. .;, Store oattle were few in number, and m9t with a dull sale; 15 to 18mos sorts making £2 5s to £2l7s, 3,yr steers £5 His to £sl7s Gd, 3yr heifers £4 8s and dry cows £llos to £4 7s-6d. Dairy cows brought £3los to £9 2s Gd. These latter were enter' ed in only limited numbers and they sold well at prioes ranging from £3 10s to £9 2s fid. There was a fair entry of pigs and the demand for fats was about the average, and prioes showed no change, Choppers sold up to £5, heavy baooners £2 Gs to £2los, lighter £ll7s to £2 4s, equal to 4d per lb. A line of prime baooners from Mr J. Griggs (Lougbeach) made £2 15s to £3. Large porkeis brought £1 10s to £ll6s, lighter £1 4s to £1 Bs, equal to to 4%d per lb. Store pigs were easier In consequence of an over supply large sorts making £1 to £1 ss, smaller 14s to 18s, and weauers 5s to lis, JOHNSONYILLE SALE. READY SALES AT FULL RATES (Special to M.D.T.) Johusonville, Last Night. Me3srs Abraham and Williams', Ltd , report on their Johnsouville sale as follows :-We offered a heavy entry of prime bullouks and sheep, "which sold readily at full market rates. Prime heavy ox £lO to £lO 15s, medium ox £8 17s 6d to £9 ss, lighter £8 7s Gd to £8 12s Gd, extra prime wethers 19s 4d to 19s 6d, plainer 9s, good ewes.lGs 9d to 17s 3d. S. R. Lancaster's sale of dairy stock, 200 Grade Jersey springing cows and 75 Shorthorn springing cows were offered, Competition throughout the salo was good, especially for the Grado JerseyH close to profit; the highest price realised being £ls, The average for the 200 Grade Jersey oows was £9 8s per head, and foj the 75 Shorthorn cows £G 12s Gd per head. Bayers were present from all parts, a nam ber of the oows going to Hawke's Bay, Otaki, Pahiatua and Martinborough. PAHIATUA SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on their weekly stock sale in Dalgety's yards at Pahiatua as follows :-We bad a fair entry of both sheep and cattle. hammer at late rates.
