The Wellington Uity ratepayers voted to-day on the Oitv Uouuoil's proposal to borrow £IOO.OOO for the duplication of the Wainui water maiu and extension of the water service in the city and suburbs. Only about 15 per oenfc. of those qualified voted. Ihe proposal was carried, the voting being: for the proposal 846, against 749.
