Charles Ronald MoPlierson, charged at the Magistrate's Court with broabing and entering and theft from the Church of Christ and the Spiritualists Church, reserved his defence aud was committed for trial. " This morning a complete Ret of man's clothes was found ou the beach at Happy Valley, four miles from the city, giving the appearance that someone had gone iu to the sea to bathe anil lost his life. Among documents found in a leather bag lying near were papers relating to the Shearers' Union and bearing tho name of P. F. D'Arcy. The police Bearohed this afternoon but found uo traces of the body. HOSPITAL BOARD ELECTIONS. Christchuroh, Yesteiday. The eleotion of seven persons ■to represent the city on the Hospital arid Charitable Aid Boards resulted in three ladies-Mesdames Cunnington, Wilson and Eneom—and Messrs Allison, Tanner, Rev. Uloss and Qapes being eleoted. Messrs Allison and Gapes were the only members re-elected. Wellington, Last Wight.
