The Sayonara took the lead almost from the start, steadily widening the gap separating, the contestants, and rounded the buoy 7 minnfces 40 seconds ahead of the Oulwalla. Tiie home journey was made with a fresh wind astern, Hio Sayonara finishing 13 minutes 12 seoonds to the good, This is a minute and a half moio than the extreme time allowance Bhe could bo asked to give the Oulwalla. (Mr Marks sailed the Oulwalla from Sydney to Hobart and baok before the raoo through some terrible gales).
