To-day Messrs Russell ami Anthony. solicitors for Bowron Bros aud G. J. Smith, served notice ou Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M., that an application would ba made on the 18th Maroh to the' Supreme Court for a writ of prohibition asainst further proceedings in the iuoonie tax case, recently heard. The grounds stated iu support of the applications are that the magistrate had uo jurisdiction to adjudicate,, in that the proceedings had not been oommenced within three years after the date of the alleged offence. Mr Bishop's decision, on evidence heaul last week, will not be delivered until the motion for prohibition is disposed of.
