M. Vanderveld, stated tliat it lmd now beeu found that King Leopold had invested £2,800,000 in cotcpauies directed by men ot straw, including a million in Oongo bonds. The money was taiuted with blood and ought to revert to Belgium, and used to improre the condition' of the negroes. The Government admitted that King Leopold deceived them. They would uphold the nation's rights. Other speakers asserted that £1,300,000 had disappeared from the Oongo Treasury, and that boobs and papers had beeu destroyed.
