Ye terday on the Palmerstou North Bowling Green an impromptu pairs tournament took place between the members of the Club, when a most interesting day was spent and some well-contested games were wifcnossed. At the conclusion of tht afternoon's play a meeting of the olub members was held to disouss the unsatisfactory manner of the arrangements for playing the Bemi-fiual aud final games of the N.B A. Tournament recently held at Wellington. Mr 0. Pickering explained that m ordej.' that his team might win the ooveted banner they must win four games while the Wellington team which lias had it awarded to them only played two games. Mr Piokeiing was playing liis'third gamu when he suffered his defeat. It was resolved that the Olub formally protest as there was evideutlv some mismanagement and iuformthe seoretary that Pickering's team is willing to go to Wellington and play Churchward's teamfor the banner.
