MR SHORT'S CASE.
Our Feilding correspondent writes that Mr E. Short, whoso return from Wellington the other day wo chronicled, consulted Dγ Martin, who has diagnosed that the trouble from which lie iias been suffering is probably caused by shot .in the spinal region, the result of a shooting accident when he was eighteen years of age, and which have resulted in an abscess. Mr Short's case had been variously diagnosed from imagination lo appendicitis, and he was several times under the X-rays in Wellington duriug the long period in which he was coulined to bed there. Our correspondent understands that he is to see the Palnierston surgeon again to-morrow, and that it is probable that an operation for the removal of tlio shot will be undertaken by Dr Martin at Feilding on the following day. Mr Short is at present staying at Hasties' Hotel, Feilding, and we hope that ho will at last secure relief from his sufferings. Ho is a successful man, who has been totally unspoiled by success, and one for whom the greater the knowledge the greater the respect and regard. We sincerely hope that this last development in his case may be tho prelude to complete recovery.
