GRAIN REPORT. Mr F. Pownall, of the N.Z. and Canterbury Farmers' Co-Op. Asstns., Wellington, reports as folllows (all quotations f.0.b., port of shipment, sacks free) Oats: Business apparently, is oonfined to extensive coastal orders under completion, with small Eastern Australian fillings for A Grades. Season's growings are mainly later, receiving active enquiry for both milling and seed purposes. B Grade Danish and S-Bills rule at 2s 6d, gardons 2s 7d, duns 2s Bd. seeds 2s lOd. Wheat: Unfavourable advices are restricting South Australian exports homewards, checking further advance, with a reflect on Dominion values. Should flour ease locally, wheat will sympathise. Tuscan and Velvet seed 4s Bd, fowl feed more available at 4s 6d. Potatoes: Quality is turning out satisfactory, though' on small side, blighted districts having greatly diminished. Whites are steady at £4 ss, blues £4 10s. Maize : Moderate turnover at 4s 7d. Barley: Malting quiet at 5s 3d, feed 3s 6d. seed, Cape, 4s 6d. Peas: Partridge stand at 4s, ex- | ports thinning. Split £15 10s. Bran: In good supply at £5 2s 6d. Pollard: Nominally off boards at £6 10s. Catmeal: 25s firm at £18. Rolled oats £18. Oatinia 10s 6d. Ohaff: Stores are comfortably filled, and reserves South heavy. Bright cut demands 955, medium 90s. Winter will enhance value slightly. Straw ohaff 655. Hay: Pressed straw lists at 42s 6d, rye-clover hay 85s.

We quote; Forward wethera 13s, forward lambs Bs. Cattle: Store cows 15s to 265, forward oows 33s to 465, yearling heifers 17«, 18-fluonth heifers 22d 6d to 235. 18-month steers odours) 29s 6d, weaners 9s 6d,forward empty heifers £2 15s, fat heifers £4 ss, fat cows £3 10s to £4 7s 6d. Last week we held a most successful sale Qf dairy on account of Mr 0. Pedetsen, of Jackeytown. There,was a keen demand for all young and good conditioned sheep. Young ewes and forward wethers and lamos sold well. Cattle were not in'great demand, except for forward and fat bullocks, for which the domand was keen. We quote as under .—Good 2-th wetliers lis 2d to lis 9d, forward 2-fch wethers 13s, medium fat lambs ICs Bd, forward lambs 8s 7d, prime fat ewes 13s 6s. A nice line of 162 2-th Eomney ewes on account of W. I.
