ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY.

ANNUAL MEETING,

The annual meeting of the Palmerston North Orchestral Society was held last night, Dr. J. H. O'Brien presiding. The report showed that the past year had been most successful both from a financial and an musical point of view. The balance sheet showed a credit balance of £52, and assets £195. Receipts totalled £150, and expenditure '£155, the year having been started with a credit of £58. Officers were elected as follows:— President, Mr A. D. Thomson. S.M. ; vice-president, Rev. 0. 0. Harper, Dr. Tatton, Dr. O'Brien, Dr. Martin, Dr. Greig, Messrs J. A. Nash and W. Beck; conductor, Mr M. Cohen; leader, Mr Kitchen; pianist, Miss Gansted; stage manager, Mr A. Turner; librarian, Mr A. Tonkin; property manager, Mr A. Browning; auditor, Mr G. J. secretary and treasurer, Mr H. K. Swallow ; committee. Messrs J. Jones, J. Graham, 0. Pickeriug, P. Larcombe and Chisholm. The secretary was voted an honorarium of £10 for his services.
