MANAWATU A.O.F.
The Manawatu A.O.F. met in the Forresters' Hall last evening, Brother D. Anderson, &R., presiding. Vsiiting brethren from Court Loyal, Feilding, were present in'arge numbers, headed by P.O.K. Bro. Lockheed, and Were accorded a very heatry welcome. P.O.K. Lockhead sasisted at the initiations. The delegates to the Friendly Societies' Council, P.C.RT's Yortt and Aitchinson, were allowed a free handin connection with the suggested amalgamation of Friendly Societies' Council and Manawatu Mounted Rifles in hloding a monster demonstration on New Year's Day, 1909. The following were nominated for the various offices for the ensuing year:—C.R., Bros, Beattie, W. Rickard, F. Stevens ; 5.0. R., Bros. Rolfe, C. Beattie, W. Rickard, A. Patlridge (senior) treasuurer; PC.R. Aitchinson; secretary, P.O.R. Yortt ;S.W., Bros. Rolfe A, Paltridge (senior). W. Rickard. F. Stevens, A. Rogers, J. W. G. Paltridge, Mollzgaard, W. Morris, W. Rickard; 5.8., A. PaltridgeQun.), Mollzgaard, W. Rickard ,W. Morns; J. B.,F.Steven&, Mollzgaard, W. Morris,O. Beattie, 0. . Young, A, Paltridge. At the banquet held subsequent to the meeting C.R. Bro. Anderson was in the chair, lhe toast list included the following:— The King, proposed by the chairman ; the Visitors, proposed by the chairman and responded to by Bro. Lockhead; Kindred Societies, proposed by P.O.R. Bro. Aitchinsoo, responded to by Bro. Worsfold and Bro. Maun of Patea. The Loyal Feilding lodge, by Bro, Beattie and responded to by' Bro. Lockhead; the Court Manawatu, by P.O.R. Bro. Worsfoldjandresponded toby P.O.R. Bro. Yortt; the newly initiated members, by P.O.R. Bro. Follis and responded to by the new members present. Songs were sung by Bros. Young, Yortt, and Beattie and a recitation was given by Bro. Stevens.
