KENTUCKYS' TOBACCO WAR.
Press Assooitaion— Copyright. Received Dec. 9, 10.18 p.m. New York, Dec. 9. The United States revenue for the year shows a surplus of 84 million dollars. A tobacco war is raging between erowersahd dealers at Hokinsville, Kentucky, where 400 armed and masked" men attacked the city. They imprisoned all the police and firemen, burued several tobacco factories, fusilladed the houses of dealers and destroyed £40,000 worth of property, A party of pursuers exchanged shots but the marauders, who were believed to be tobacco growers, escaped. It is reported that the manager of the Imperial tobacoo factory was whipped to death. Received, Deo. 9,1 J. 42 p.m. New York,* Dec. 9. Troops despatched to Nevada have Teached the soene of the miners strike. An attempt was made to blowup the train conveying them by dynamite, and it narrowly escaped destruction.
