The wonders of up-to-date scientific machinery will never cease. At an exhibition, recently, a breadmaking machine was installed, which is nothing short of marvellous. It will mix, shape, and bake 300Q, loaves an hour; that is, 500 loaves a minute, or 30,000 in ten hoursenough for an army of 50,000 men. The flour is shot into a huge compartment over the ovens, from whence it is conducted, mechanically, through a sifter into another compartment. Here it is automatically mixed with water, kneaded, fermenffed, and shaped into loaves, which slide along moving trays into great ovens. From the time the flour is put into the machine, until it comes out in the form of loaves, it is not touched by human hands, the whole process being worked by electricity.
