COLLEGE STREET SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the above committee was held last evening when there were present Messrs Hodder (chairman), Rutherfnrd, Oarvill, Inder, Hansen, Whitehead, Stnbbs, and the headmaster. CORRESPONDENCE. From Mr Sharp resigning his position on the committee owing to hie departure from tlie district.—Resolved to send a letter to Mr Sharpe expressing regret at losing him. From Mr Lowe enclosing an account for 4s for postages in connection with official correspondence with the Board. Formerly theJßoard had the power to frank letters bat now this had been done away with. —Account forwarded to the Board with the intimation that the committee disclaims all liability.
The headmaster's report showed a roll of 453. The school had been open 38*4 days and closed for 4. The inspector's annual report having been read, the chairman moved that the headmaster and staff be congratulated on its very excellent and. highly satisfactory character. It was resolved that th 3 Board be asked to provide the necessary accommodation for instruction in woodwork and cookery so that the children would not have to tramp long distances in all weathers.
