THE QUEENSLAND FRUIT FLY.
INFECTED FRUIT DESTROYED,
Per Press Association. Welilngton, Doc. 5,
A shipment of apricots from Parramatta, Ryde, and other places near Sydney, which arrived by yesterday's steamer, proved to be affected by the Queensland fly.
The great majority of the fruit was free from the parasite, but on account of contiguity the number of cases destroyed totallod 300, and only 50 got through. These latter were sold this morning at satisfactory prices, but the loss on the condemned fruit will totaf about £250. The plums by the same boat were free from the parasite, but tlie shipment was small. It realised good prices at this morning's auction sales.
