An explosion of methylated spirits in the ward-room and pantry-room of the flagship caused the death of Private Culley of the Marine Infantry. While six men were in the stokehold of the coasting steamer KempBey, lying at the wharf, a naked light set np an explosion in a leaky case of benzine. The six men were injured, two seriously.
