NAPIER WOOL SALES.
•U Per Press Association. Napier, December 3. The first wool sale of the season ' opened this morning before a large tod representative attendance. The catalogue comprised bales as : againHt 7148 at last year's opening : sale. The air of buoyancy, however, : then apparent, was to-day missing. s Bidding kept within defined limits and in the majority of instances fallen to reacli sellers' ideas of valnes and a large proportion was passed in. Some of the best crossbred wool, for which last year Is and t 13d, was offered showed a drop of 3d. * Bayers, too, complained chat the Turool, as a whole, had deteriorated and that the staple was not so well Eown nor so good in character as 3t year. Later. At the wool sale to-day, the top price, r MM, was realised for a fine sample of ■ Corriedale wool. Fine crossbred sold up 'P to 9id, medium crossbred up to 8?d, ■ coarse up to 9d. Best half-bred brought up to lid. The drop was from 2d to 3d per lb all round.
