The Daily-Mail's Rio Janiero correspondent says that an attempt to overthrow the Government of Minas Geraes, under the leadership of Magali, a native of Rio Grande Do Snl, aided hy British, Canadian, and American filibusterers, failed after a premature skirimsh in the State of Bahia, wherein PhilipDavies, a retired British Major, was killed, Lieut. George Gordon wounded, and all were captured. £100,000 ,was raised in London and Now York by the filibustered, who landed separately as traders. (Minas Geraes is an extensive Province of Brazil, south of Bahia, on the Atlantic seaboard. Rio Grande Do Sul is aleo one of the States united in the Republic of Brazil which is modelled after the Unite! States, with this difference, that eaoh State has complete autonomy, amounting almost to decentralisation,
