Caulfield Cup Running.

Melbourne, October 28. The suggested inquiry into the running of the New Zealand owned horse Apologue has been allowed to fall through. It will be remembered that Mr Cleland, owner of Apologue, expressed himself as being dissatisfied with the running of his horse in the Cauifield Cup in which he was beaten by his stable companion Poseidon. Mr Cleland asked the V.A.T.C. stewards to hold an inquiry. This they consented to do, if Mr Cleland would guarantee to pay all expenses of holding same. Such a reply to an owner's request seems to convey the idea that the stewards who control racing affairs at Cauifield, considered Mr Cleland's complaint a frivolous one.
