London Wool Sales
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., have received the following cable from London under yesterday's date.—The market has closed firm with strong demand for all descriptions of superior wools, but for inferior wools the market "is weak. Opening prices are unchanged. Total quantity held over is 20,000 bales, all of which are New Zealand. Following are current prices for North Island wools of average condition: Cross breds 36's-40's quality to lid per lb, medium 44's-46's lid to ll%(i per lb, fine 50's ll%d to 12% d per lb. Mesrss Murray, Roberts and Co. have received the following wool market cablegram from their London house, dated July 24th, 1907: —Sales have closed irregular with 24,000 Eales held over. Compared with last ionuon sales closing rates, best descriptions of greasy merino, fine crossbred and coarse to medium greasy crossbred of good lustre and breed, the market shows no material change. Best scoured merino has declined a shade. Faulty and inferior merino and coarsß to medium scoured crossbred has declined 10 per cent. Greasy coarse to medium crossbred of inferior descriptions have declined 5 to cent. Coarse to medium slipe crossbred has declined 1)4 to 10 per cent, and greasy crossbred lambs have declined 10 to 15 per cent.
