THE HARTNETT MILKING MACHINE.
At the Manawatu Cooling Stores there was given yesterday afternoon an exhibition of the new "Hartnett" milking machine, the agency for which is in the hands of Messrs C. Dahl and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North. A number of persons interested were present to take note of the latest advances in milking by machinery. The splendidly contrived action of the rubber sleeve within the teat cups pressing on the cow's teat like a sucking calf, the automatic dropping of the cups as soon as the milk ceases to flow, the low and safe vacuum in use, the overhead pulsator, all combined to produce an excellent impression in the minds of those present, During the milking the cows showed no signs of irritation, but stood contentedly as though they had never known any other method o£ being milked.
