TRACY V WILLIAMS.
The committee of the Manawata Boxing Association flatly contradict the rumour that is being spread about to the effect that the forthcoming contest be* tweeu Tracy and Williams, to take place in the Opera House on Boxing Night, ir a prearranged affair. Without commenting on the matter at length, il should be remembered by those too prone to start these rumours that it was for the sole purpose of keeping the sport clean that the Boxing Associations were inaugurated in New Zealand, and the | fact that the contest in question is nndar the auspices and direction of a registered Boxing Association should be ample guarantee of pure sport of a straightforward nature. Several members of the Association took a trip to Longbarn at the end of the week to witness Alee Dunn putting Gnat Williams through his facings, and returned to. town san* guine that the local man will not only Rive a good account of himself against Tracy, but will come out victorious The steady demand for seats at Davis', tobacconist, on Saturday is very en» cpDraging to the members of the Association, who are sparing no expense to * bring their first meeting to a successful ißsue.*
