Mr Chas. A. i>. Hawkins hag been appointed a Government hemp grader. A Wellington telegram states that Rev Alexander Dasent, one of the oldest Anglican clergymen in New Zealand, died last night, aged 86 years. At Masterlon on Thursday Mr Harley Donald, second son of Mr Donald Donald, was married to Miss May Nicholls, daughter of Mr W. H. S. Nicbolls, postmaster.
Arthur H. Adams, who recently returned /rotn Europe, has been appointed associate editor of the Now Zealand Timea.
Mr W. Moffatt, of Palmerston, entertained a number of friends at a chain pagne sapper on Thursday night, when a very enjoyable evening was Bpont.
