INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION.
Progress Report.
Per Press Association.
Ciiristchurch, Last Night,
The woekly official review of the progress of the Now Zealand International issued tonight, states that Mr E. W. Chriatmas, a well known Australian artist, who was associated with Mr Tolibert in the Australian Federal International Exhibition as European representative of the art classes; has submitted a bold and comprehensive scheme for obtaining a splendid selection of pictures from all pacts of tbe world. The scheme ia expensive but very thorough, and if adopted'will be tbe means of providing an exhibition of pictures unprecedented in this part of the world.
The question of transport and accommodation of visitors to the Exhibition is one which requires the immediate attention of those interested. The attendance at tho Exhibition is only going to be limited by available means for transport and lodging accommodation, and with this knowledge before those interested it is hoped that adequate steps will be taken in time to meet the position.
Proposals aro under consideration by which the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association will co-operate with the Exhibition Executive and take over tho whole responsibility of providing an agricultural and pastoral show worthy of the occasion.
The Executive Commissioner invites suggestions of names by which the amusement section of the Exhibition will be known.
