Mr»- A. Wellwood, of Haetingt, wm married to Miss Alice Filson, Ponatahi (Wairarapa) on Wednesday The Very Rev. Father Hays, who underwent a slight operation last week for the benefit of his throat, is making satisfactory progress, though some weeks must elapse before he will be sufficiently restored in health to leave the colony. Mr D. Norman Purdie, only son of D..X. Purdie, of Wellington, was married at Opotiki on Wednesday afternoon by the Rev. T, Anson Cato to Mini Maud M. Lambert, eldest daughter of the late Mr C. 0. Lambert; of Opotiki. . Mr A. Leigh Hunt, who has tince it* i inception' held the position of Secretary of the New Zealand Farmers' Co-Opera-tive Distributing Company, Ltd., has been appointed to the position of manager. *
The death was.reported on Wednesday of Mrs Otiperu B. Maramara, m Tura. kina, at the early age of 18 yean. Deceased, who was the only daughter of Mr Sam Woon, had been married only a few months.
