Rome, Yesterday. After giving audience to Mr J. E. Redmond, aDd inquiring about everything in Ireland, the Pope said the National Party was the defender of Ireland's national religion. The Party's fforts to win liberty for Ireland and civil and religious rights of the Irish people by lawful and peaceful means had bis sympathy and blecsing. He sent his apostolic benediction to the members of the Party and their families. The Pope presented Mr Redmond with his portrait and autograph with an inscription hoping that the party was using all legal and pacific means to win that liberty which makes for the welfare Of the Catholic Church and the whole country..
