Aotive Mining Policy Wanted.
Railway League Resolution.
(Per Press Association.) Hokitika, Last Night. At a meeting of the Westland Prospecting Association resolutions were carried urging the Government to prosecute an active mining policy throughout the colony by giving monetary assistance to any legitimate schema approved by the mines' officers. It wh also decided to ask the County Councils of the goldfields district to co-operate in carrying on an active agitation to the same end.
The Bailway League carried resolutions asking the Government to carry out expenditure of votes for railway works in the district including the re* vival of werk on the Boss Railway and more expeditious procedure on the east and west coast line. Word, was received to-day that Mr Taylor, M.H.E., is unable through indisposition to attend the West Coast Temperance Convention, which opens here to-morrow. :■ ■
