A tejegratu was received by the A. and P. Association on Saturday stating that^ ther Minister for Lands, the Honv T. Y. Duncan, intended to be present at the Winter Show this week. Sir Joseph Ward will be unable to be present, bo the show will probably be opened by Mr Duncan.
Mr N, Morgan, teller of the Bank of New Zealand at Hunterville, has been transferred to the head office in Wellington.
Mr Georgetti. of Wanganui, has purchased 5000 acres thirteen miles from Hastings.
The death is announced from the Thames of Mrs Kitching, relict of Valentine Kitching, aged 97 years. Deceased was one of the oldest residents of the Thames and was highly respected.
.; On Saturday Mr K. Dalrymple was elected a member of the General Committee of the A. and P. Association, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of his father, the late Mr J. Dalrymple.
American files announce the marriage at San Leandor of Mrs W. Kendall, late of Palmerston North, to Mr Cromarty, a local banker.
A pleasant function took place at the Feilding railway station on Saturday when Mr Morton, statianmaster, on behalf of the employees, presented Mr. Ot T, Berrett, who has been in the servioe for a number of years as porter, with a suitably inscribed clock. Mr Berrett has severed his connection with the Department to take up farming, and will Uunch out in his new departure at Little River, South Island,—(Feilding correspondent).
