Abraham and Williams.
Messrs Abraham and "Williams, Ltd., report: —Sales this week comprise Mangawoka and Palmerston.
At Mangaweka.last Saturday, wo had a fine yarding of both sheep and cattle. Young sheep were in demand and sold at full values ; old ewes were neglected Some good lines of cattle were yarded, but in many cases did not correspond with buyers' ideas of values.
At Palmerston on Thursday the yarding of stock was below the average'; only 17 pens of sheep were yarded and 260 hoad of cattle. With the exception of one pen of wethers all the sheep were sold at satisfactory prices. A good clearance was also effected with thn cattle, one pen of cows and a line of 30 2yr steers being all that was left unsold at the end of the day. Quotations: —
At Mangaweka—Forward cows 13s 6d, fat cows £5 6s, heifers in c i)f i! 3 18s to £4 G3, weaners 36s 6d to 36s 9d, ISmths steers £8 3s, 4-th wethers 13s 7d, 2-th 13s 9d to 14s Id, forward ewes 12s Id, ewes in lamb (culls) 7s Id to 11s, f.m. do 13s.
At Palmeraton—Prime fat ewes 16a Bd, a few prime fut lambs 13s 6d, forward ewes 13s to 13a sd, store ewes 12^3 .sd, lambs lls Id, small lambs 6s lid to 9s 2d, cull ewes 6s, 3 and 4-yr bullocks £5 15s to £6 los, 2i and 3-yr steers £5 Is to £5 4s, forward cows £4 to £5 2s 6d, yearlings £2 7s, weaners 25s to 355, small weaners 5s to lls, sows in pig £2 23, baconers 35s 6d, slips 9s 6d.
