MASTERTON RAM FAIR.

A Successful Sale.

Masterton, Last Night. The first day of the annual ram fair, held under the auspicos of the Masterton A. and P. Association, waß of a generally satisfactory character. Bidding was fairly brisk, substantial prices were realised, and an almost complete clearance was effected. A record price was obtained for a Romney ram bred by E. Short, bf Feilding, for which E. J. Riddiford gave 100 guineas. Romneys and Southdowns were in most urgent demand. The auctioneers report Romneys ranged from 23s to 4\g. S. R. Lancaster sold a Southdown for 7gs. '

Tho prices for Shropshires were from l£g to 3£gs.

On account of R. Cobb a number of Romneys were disposed of privately at 3gs to Bgs.
