Otago 20. Canterbury 3.
(Per Press Association):- * Dunedin, Last Night* The interprovincial football match Otago y. Canterbury, played on the Caledonian Ground to-day,- in the presence of about 4000 spectators,' resulted in an easy win for the home team by 20 points to 8. The weather wag perfect, and the ground was in excellent • ,: condition. The game, was pretty even -'£ in the first half, in which Canterbury ( had the advantage of a light wind, but in the second spell the visitors were completely outclassed, both in back and forward play. Otago was was more successful in getting the ball from the scrum, and the local backs had, there* fore, better opportunity. Tries for ..' Otago were scored by Given, Abbot, ■ Stalker and Baxter, two being converted ' by Miller, who also kicked a goal from a mark. A try for Canterbury was scored by Wood, after a brilliant run* Mr Galbraith made an efficient referee,
A team representing the Palmerston High School met and defeated a fifteen from the Feilding High School by 16 to 6. The game was played at Feilding. .
