Wellington, N.Z., Ootobor 27th, 1902. Mb Lane.— Dear Sir, - I feel it my duty to let you know what your Emulsion, and fresh air, has done for mo. Twelve months ago l.wiSeptember 1 was so ill with my lungs th:it I had to go into tho Wellington Hospital. I had been under tho care of five (5) diftercut doctors, who said my case was one of consumption. I was told that my only chauce was to go either to tho "BJue Mountains" or the hospital. After beiug in the hospital six (6) weeks I returned home somewhat relieved, but not cured. I had a very nasty, hacking, hollow cough, and was -frequently spitting blood. Owing to ihe coughing bsing so bad at night, morphia tablets were ordered to 6uable me to sleep a little at night. My flesh was gradually, but surely leaving my body, and I was getting weaker and weaker, and was tired all the time. In April of this year (1902 I commenced taking ■ ' lane's Emulsion through reading your little book, which was put under the door. The doctor who was attending me said I was doing right, and advised me to con tinue with it. I think he said this just to please me as much as anything. At thia time my stomach was so weak, aud my digestion so poor that I could hardly retain the Emulsion, but by persistent efforts it gradually strengthened my digestive organs, and after a while I had no difficulty in keeping it down. It must have been a mouth or six (6) weeks before I could tell there was any iniproremout. lv fact, I was beginning to lose hope of your Emulsion doing me good. Readiug the testimonials from hrao to time they induced me to continue. The testimonial of Trooper Orr,"and his statement- about how he regained his health through being persistent with the Emulsion gave me fresh hope. I am now so thankful I was persistent. It was about this time that an improvement began to be noticeable The coughing was still very bad, and the bleeding had not entirely stopped, but there was a kind of feeling that I was getting a little better strength. This helped me on, arid gave me fresh hope that I might still be well agaiu. Right up to now, seven months later, I havo kept on taking tho Emulsion. At first ono bottle each week, then two, and as I got stronger the dose was increased. For the past two (2) months I have boon talcing three (3) bottles each week. I am now on my forty-fourth (44) bottle. It has been mouey well spent. Lane's Emulsion fresh air and persistency have given me a new lease of life. X Last February my weight was 8 stone 6 pounds. % April I had decreased to 7 stone. Since then I havo gradually increased and have i now gamed 10 pounds. Last February aud March I was quite unable to walk but a few paces, the least exertiou would tire me very much Now-October-I can, and do, walk quite live f5) miles each fine day. Tho walk I usually take is from my house, round the Patent Slip, through Kilbunue, on to Newtown, and home again. This walk is now no, trouble tome. f Just previous to taking tho Emulsion, my doctor said he could do no more for me. Now I can sing my old songs as well as ever I did, showing my lungs are strong and sound. As further proof that my case was one of consumption, I was reported to the Health Officers who visited the house in which I was living, and they sent me a circular issued by the Government, giving instructions as to the care of consumptives. " I am quite certain that my re"turn to health and strength Is "solely due to LANE'S EMULSION " and fresh air." Very greatfully and thankfully yours. (Signed) NELLY NIGHTINGALE.
