Sutherland v. Martin. " Plugger Bill " Goes Down.

Per Press Association. Chhistchprch, Saturday. At the Christchurch Cycling Club's meeting to-day there was line weather and a large attendance. Great interest was taken in the matches between Martin and Sutherland. The first distance in the match—one mile—was won by Sutherland, who, after a painfully slow race "jumped " at the right moment and left his opponent badly. In the second distance—2o miles—a number of accidents occurred, and after completing about 15 miles Martin retired, leaving Sutherland to win the purse of £$Q and the wager of £2q aside,
