Gudgeon Beats Walker. But Taylor is Daddy of Them All.

The attendance was twenty • five thousand. The ma'eh between Gudgeon and Walker to datvda who should meet Major Taylor, irsu'ted in a win for Gudgeon, who, making a phenomenally fast finish, beat Walker by a length acd j a quarter in 2min 3 2 osec. Gudgeon then tackled Taylor. In the first event, the mile paced, Taylor won by three lengths in 2min 2 2-osec. In the second event, the mile unpaced, Taylor won by a similar distance in. 3min 12 3-ssec. J The winner held Gudgeon easily at his mercy and displayed magnificent form. He received an ovation Taylor also won the Taylor Plate, with Walne second, and Walker third. Chalmers, the New Zealander, ran second to Taylor in his qualifying heat.
