ASHHURST.

Tuesday. The monthly meeting of the Domain Board was held in Mr Vincent's office la&t evening. Present—Messrs J. H. Vincent (chairman), G. S. Bundle, T. Lowes, and P. Hanlon. The balance sheet for the year ending December 31st showed receipts to be 2s 8d; expenditure, £24 19s 2d; credit balance. 3s 6d. Mr Vincent was accorded a yole of ihanks and re-elected chairman. Correspondence was received from the Treasury, Government auditor, and Ashhurst Eacing Club. It was resolved— To invite tenders for grazing the Domain, applications to be in by next meeting. The following will represent the High School Cricket Club in continuance of their match against the Old Boys:—Waldegrave (2), E. Frascr, J. Hardie, J. Watchorn, Kibblcwhite, N. Kussell, Muuro, A. Anderson, U. Green, Mason. Emergencies : — Jainieson, Christensen, Chapman, Hart. Immediately after the above, a meeting of the Cemetery Trustees was held, the same members being .present, Mr Lowes in the chair. The balance sheet for the year showed receipts £16 12s Bd, expenditure £19 5s 3d, leaving a deficit of £2 12s 7d. Messrs Lowes (chairman) and G-. S. Rumble (secretary) were accorded a vote of thanks and re-elected to their respective offices. Accounts amounting to 8s were passed for payment. It was decided that the sexton be allowed to graze part of the cemeteryfree from graves, provided a tether is used. Also that he be paid the extra digging fees. The Volunteer Rifles and the Band are holding a combined picnic at trie rifle range on Thursday. The public are invited, vehicles will be at the foot of Whibley's cutting to convey picnickers across the river. Mrs Wilson, postmistress, is on her annual holidays. Mr L. Storey, of Palmerston, is relieving.
