THE ELECTORAL DISTRICTS.
The technical description of the new electoral boundaries have now been- published, but ■without the aid of a detailed map it is impossible to say exactly what the local changes are. Broadly speaking, tbe Palmerston electorate seems to have been interfered with V 617 little, with oae notable exception, and that is the exclusion of Ashburst, and its in elusion in the new Oroua district. This means that Ashhursfc's political interests ate now associated with those of Feilding, -which constitutes a distinct breach of the rule which is supposed to govern the commissioners in working the electoral boundaries, for in no sense can Ashhursfc be said to be as closely allied to Feilding as it is to Palmeraton, and it will be surprising if the naw arrangement does not draw a protest from the residents of that town. For the rest little need be said, except that this coast as a whole gains another seat in the new district of Wangaehu, which will doubtless promote a contest in which Mr R. C. Bruce will probably take a promij nont part.
