Returning Troopers.
Eeceived July 3, 1.9 a.m. . " i Lo^DO.s July 2. The troops in South Africa at th« moment of peace numbered 202,090, excludiog the- local forces. Seventy thousand will embark before the regulars.
Thirty-niDe Government transports, with a carrying capacity of 40,000 men, have been engaged for returning troops. Two thousand five hundred are embarking weekly in steamers. .. All.the.Xeomanry of 1901,.and 18,000 reservists will embark before August. The Australians are going in six ships, the oversea colonials being among the first to embark.. •
The . Yeomanry, oversea coloutale, and volunteer service companies will receive a month's leave on landing.

:■: \, . CfIP.TSTCHur.CH. July 2. The Governor has been advised that private L. H. Arden;,of New Plymouth, died at Germiston. Souili Africa, on June 28th, from accidental gunshot wound, and private R. Gilpin, of Chrißfcohbrch, was danpei-ouslyill with dysentry at Gecmiston, on the same date.
