(Press Association.—Copyright.) London, August 26. _ During the Duke of Cornwall's visit to Capetown the Boer prisoners presented him with curios made from Kruger coins. Tbe Duke shook hands with the prisoners who were delighted.

It is officially reported that General De la Rey has issued a proclamation warning tbe Boers against Lord Kitchener's proclamation, and adding that t! vy will continue the struggle. Mr Kruger, in the course of an interview, said, " Tbo Boers will disappear if God wills, but man will never conquer them."

The Brussels correspondent of the Daily Mail says General Botha has decided to keep British prisoners as hostages in the event of Lord Kitchener's proclamation being enforced,
