■- ' ■ ■ ♦■ . -. ... •'. ■ Per Press Association. Wellington, Feb. 29. The Government have received ad- • vice that the. lonic is bringing but 1229 immigrants, the majority being nominated. One hundred and eighty three are for Canterbury, and the remainder for Wellington and adjacent transhipping ports. There are no families. Fifty-six are single men, and 86 single women. The following nominations for assisted immigrants to be forwarded fey the Ban Francisco mail have been re* ceived : —Auckland, 11 ; Taranaki, * 14; Hawke's Bay, 86; Wellington, 79 ; Nelson, 9; Westland,' H ; Marlborough, 8; Qtago, 88; ; Can-» terbury, 57 ; Southland, Bi3i'; tota^ 886.
