A moat laughable contretemps recently occurred m, a London theatre, owing to a double. One cf the actors who had a long chance for a change of costume had divested himself: of his lower garments, but iiurrie^iy put on the gauzy headdress and mailed shirt of a ghost, iweast-high on a trap, and speak one or; tlwt) lines. By accident, or out of pure mischief, the man who managed the trap wound it all the way up, and the poor actor appeared before the stupefitd audience, imaginatively ghost to tlie waist, but painfully and unpleasantly mortal as to legs.
