February 27. It is announced that Admiral Nicol has been appointed to supersede Admiral Galiber as commander of the Preneh fleet m Malagasy waters.
CHBISTIANIA.
February 28. An important State trial wag brought to a conclusion here to^day. The Higsret or Supreme Court passed a sentence of deprivation of office upon Herr silmer, the first member of the Government of Norway, who was recently impeached and imprisoned by the second Chamber of the Norwegian Parliament. The Rigsret has confirmed the action of that body, and condemned" Silmer to pay all costs of the trial.
. LONDON
. February 28. -The mails via Suez, and Brindisi, from Melbourne, January 17, were delivered hete to-day. The cargo of; frozen mutton on board the steamship British King, from New Zealand, has arrived m excellent condition. The first portion was sold to-day it from. sf-d to 6d perlb. , *he mutton brought from Sydney by steamer Siberia has arrived m good condition. A portion placed on the market to-day realised 4£d to 5d per lb.
