INFORMATION WANTED.

TO THE EDITOR. SIR, — Can you inform me if the interest of our worthy Mayor has ceased at Terrace End, or if there be such a body in the Borough Council as the Public Work Committee. The reasons of my asking are these :—1st. That for the last month the road from the railway crossing at Terrace End to the newly graded road has been a perfect bog. Through the heavy timber traffic and little or no repairs done to road, the ruts are cut down to the clay formation,

and being churned with the metal. Only ast week I noticed when the carters had placed pieces of board in some of the ruts to prevent the wheels of the drays sinking down. 2nd. That some months ago I observed in your report of the proceedings of the Borough Council, that authority had been given to the Engineer to grade the side ditch leading to the Cemetery but up to the present time this work has not been carried out ; and now if the worthy Mayor or a member of the Public Works Committee will take a walk up as far as my entrance gate they will find a stream of water 20 feet wide flowing across my prope ty ; also that quit two chains square of the Cemetery is under water. Is all the loan expended ? or is there a line drawn across certain localities where work shall be done and where work is to be left in its next to primitive state ? — I am, &c. H. J. HAYNS.
