FURTHUR SERIOUS DISTUBBANCE IN IRELAND.
LONDON, jAinrAEY 5. News comes to hand to-day of further serious disturbances m Ireland. A large crowd of people had assembled at a farm at Newbrook, near Claremorris, m order to prevent the service of a notice for the ejectment of the tenant. A body of polico was despatched to the scene of the disturbance, nnd the people were ordered to disperse. Upon their refusing to do so, the police charged with fixed bayonets upon the rioters, several of whom were severely wounded m the struggle which ensued. An official denial has been given to the report circulated yesterday that a torpedo has been found under the bow of H.M.S. Lord Warden, m the Firth of Forth. A fire broke out -at the Liverpool Docks to-day, but it was extinguished before any damage was done. It has since been discovered that the Sre was caused by incendiaries, who had used petroleum with the evident intention of completely destioying the docks.
