Mr G-eorge InErAXD, the " fresh face '* representing the Wakata constituency, is unknown outside the boundaries of that district, which he represented for fcu r o sessions m the Provincial Council, where he ranged himself under the banner of Mr. Donald Reid. He is essentially a. miners' representative, with whose interests, he is thoroughly identified. We have heard that he was educated for the Ministry. He was a schoolmaster at Roxburgh for a short time, and also toot| % conspicuous part m endeavoring to have the pastoral lands of his district opened up on tlie deferred payment sj'stem. Ha represented the Teviot District m the last Provincial Council of Ofcago, and is a strong denominationalist.
