Friday. The Government " Gazette " announces that the Governor m Council has fixed the following schedule as to the pay and travelling allowance of the Constabulary. Sergeant-Major, 10s, Sergeant, Ist class, 9s 6d ; Sergeant. 2nd class, 9s ; Sergeant, 3rd class. 8s 6d; Constables, Ist class, 8s; Constables, 2nd class, 7s 6d ; Constables, 3rd class, 7s ; Detectives, Ist class, 12s ; Detectives, 2nd class, lls ; Detectives, 3rd class, 10s. Non-commissioned officers and Constables m reserve divisions to receive Is per die-m less than the above rates. Travelling allowances of Non-commissioned officers and Constables are fixed at 6s per diem.
