CHILDREN BURNT TO DEATH

NEW YORK, Dec. 29. Fire officials at Bridgeport (Connecticut) report the reception of a telephone alarm from a small boy. Then the voice of a small girl cut in, shouting, "You can't get in; the house is locked." The brigade put the fire out. In the seven-roomed cottage were found the bodies of four boys, aged one, three, four and eight, and the girl aged nine, who had been locked in the house while their parents opened a gasoline station operated by the father.

In a" convalescent hospital fire, foni children and their parents were burned to death at Meriden.

This brings the total in Connecticut to 30 in a week.
