WELL-EQUIPPED BANDITS
ACTIVE IN CENTRAL EUROPE . LONDON Dec. 27. A report from Prague describes how roaming groups of bandits, mainly made up of deserters from various armies, are operating in various parts of Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Poland. In Czechoslovakia and Hungary these bands are said to be composed largely of German pfficers and appear to be well equipped with arms and ammunition. The bandit groups in Poland are mainly composed of Poles, and hide in the forests. They are said to be responsible f.or much of the ill-treatment of Jews. They are particularly active along the Soviet-Polish frontier. They ride on horses and in small, fast cars and are generally attacking-small country towns on market days and making off with clothing and food.
