“HOLIDAY REVELS”

“Holiday Revels,” the revue coming to the Opera. House tonight and Monday, is a show packed full of holiday merriment. The comedians Jack and Sylvia' Paynter have for years convulsed Auckland audiences with their humour and genuinely tunny stage antics. Every artist is thoroughly at home on the stage and the performance has received praise everywhere on its New Zealand tour. Don Le Bas, the boy soprano, is gifted with a'voice that is rarely heard and always enjoyed. Ho is given great scope and has been recalled as many as six times by enthusiastic audiences. He sings several well-lov-ed songs and is also heard to advantage with the Melody Maids. These girls wore brought from Now Plymouth where they were extremely popular. It is certain that Palmerston North will be glad to hear them in the widely diverse numbers they sing together. Wellington lost Peter Powell when he joined the company in Auckland. His tap-dancing often “steals” the show. Seldom has any dancer acquired such timing and grace. He is also well received as an otl-sider to Jack Riley’s comedy. The box plans for “Holiday Revels” are at Berryman’s as the usual office' has been closed for the holidays. . Readers are urged to book early
