GOOD SPORT AT ROTORUA. ROTORUA, Dec. 26. The largest trout taken in the Rotorua district this season was landed at the mouth of the Ngongotaha Stream by Mr A. H. Beamish, of Auckland. The fish, which was caught on the fly, was a brown trout, in excellent condition, weighing 1111 b. Mr Beamish is a veteran angler, who has made his headquarters at Ngongotaha for several seasons. Good sport has been had at Lake Rotoma, which has increased in popularity among fishermen in the last few years. Recent large catches from the Blue Lake and Hamurana have also been reported by week-end anglers, while trolling on the eastern side of Lake Rotorua continues to yield good results.
