BANK BILL PASSED
(Press Assn.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 23 No division was called for when the Bank of New Zealand Bill was passed in the Legislative Council this afternoon. During the third reading debate, Hon. W. Perry (Wellington) again raised the question of the position of the trustees, saying he was concerned thati they should not be put in the position of being “shot at” by the beneficiaries, with or without cause, on account of any action they might take in exercising their right of option as to accepting cash or stock tor their shares. He hoped the Minister of Finance (Mr Nash) would do something about the question. The Leader of the Council (Hon. A. McLagan) said Mr Perry could be assured that the position would be carefullv examined: If there was a danger of the nature outlined, steps would be taken to meet it.
